DAY 3: Hittin' the Streets!

First day out on the streets of this fine city!

This elevator just screams
'photo op'!

First views of the city in day light - from our hotel rooftop, floor 17!

Hellllloooooooooooo
 New York!

Hip hotel lobby - The Master Navigator double checking our route

We were heading to *$ for breaky, but decided to go for something uniquely nyc. Protein-loading @ Bloom's!

I loved this blingy sign!

Another blingy sign! At first I thought this was a common restaurant...then realized, you know, subway!
First nyc subway ride for Rene :)

Next stop was a visit with my colleague Wendy's sister Linda to deliver a package (pretty lacey sweater). Nice visit & some insider tips for the city!

Beautiful little treats...moms might have bought a little Valentine's gifty for a daughter or two...shhhh

Our choice for 'art gallery'
Monet, Matisse, Renaud,...we saw a nice variety

This was an AMAZING little deli sandwich - fresh, chewy baguette, fresh mozzarella, pesto & prosciutto ..we will speak of it often & long for another...

Celebrity sitting?
(actually, just around the corner Gayle was sure she saw Matthew Broderick out for a stroll!)

Columbus Circle

For a tour of Central Park, a horse drawn or bike drawn carriage?  We just used feet & walked into the end to the skating rink. Kinda of unremarkable in this season...

The Plaza @ Columbus Circle - for $700 a night...why ever did we choose a pod instead?!

The store window displays were incredible that end of town!

Creature was all sparkly & beautiful like diamonds

 for one Kristin Anton :)
(i thought the smoke stack out front quite appropriate haha)

Relaxing & dinner on my top bunk before getting ready to head out to the theatre! Watching local news..."weather warning...8cm snow will shut down city..."
hmmm

Going OUT!

What a Fantastic Show! Gotta try to find some of that music...

Then, over looking Times Square, visited The Westin Hotel Lounge for a night cap & a hit-the-spot tasty snack :)
It was pretty swanky for a couple o' small town gals like us!

(hmmm...i know you luv those cheetah legs but sheesh, Ludwig,
pull down your skirt when you sit!)
