Day 4: Feb 8th

View & fridge

(seems unfortunate, in a hotel of 17 floors that we would be on the 3rd & overlooking this roof! But, there are blessings - no street noise & not much early light in the morns. Besides, there are plenty of great places to view nyc!)

I like the cool metal door :)
Off to the outside, again...with a  million layers to keep warm!

Subway to the Financial District
- handy McDonalds to warm up

Garret, the Tour Guide
Supposed to be a 6 hr walking tour...
can we do it on this blustery day
when a blizzard is forecast?

Statue of Liberty & Staten Island Ferry...not how one usually views the Lady!

Brooklyn Bridge

Little church right by Ground Zero, that never had a scratch & then became a medical centre & restful haven for rescuers. Memorials throughout.

A

Something about Heath L - actor

Freezing temp, blowing sleet stinging the face - now it is getting very nasty & we r ready to end this tour...

Treats will help!
And they did...for a moment

As we go down a street in China Town watch for the 'grey buckets'...

"The Grey Buckets" - they were alive...in a food market...where ppl were buying food!

This is now ridiculous. Pay the guy & head home.

NYC Restaurant Week - 3 course gourmet for &38. We chose Butter.

Hmmm, serving popcorn with soup...
